Community InvolvementBig Brothers Big Sisters seeks to change the lives of children facing adversity for the better, forever. They operate in communities all across the United States. Their mentors work with children in the community, in their schools, and on military bases, and many places in between. This organization pairs a child with a role model to start a one on one relationship built on trust and friendship that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential. Bowl for a Kid's Sake is done every year all across the country. We raise money and then bowl for kid's so that they can have the opportunities many of us are fortunate to have.
Art on the Square is ranked as the #1 art show in the nation. This premier event in the metro-east region offers visitors the chance to meet artists, enjoy family entertainment, children's workshops, taste fine cuisines, and take a walk through our historic neighborhoods. This year the office sponsored an artist to go to a grade school and work with children. Our artist taught children the fine art of working with metal and stones to create exquisite jewelry. We also volunteered our time for this event by helping the artists with their needs. This was a fun experience for all and we look forward to helping this event in the years to come.
United Way Golf Scramble- United Way is focused on identifying and resolving community issues including education, income, and health. They want to make changes in the communities through partnerships with schools, businesses, and local associations. The Belleville office sponsors numerous golf tournaments each year. These sponsorships help with different causes. This year, financial representatives have played golf to help raise money for local hospitals, schools, churches, and charities. Our financial representatives enjoy joining their efforts to raise money to help others. Here are just a couple of the sponsorships we are doing this year. Metro East Christian Fellowship Golf Scramble- This golf tournament is to help raise money to help bring a missionary and his family home from Brazil. The Scramble for Kids is a benefit to raise awareness and donate money to our local hospitals to help the children. These hospitals include Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Saint Louis Children's Hospital, and Saint John's Mercy Children's Hospital. The Belleville Chili Cookoff is one of the biggest community events of the year. Chris Lowery and his team enjoy volunteering their time and interacting with the community. People come to enjoy the great chili, entertainment, and other events such as the junior American Idol competition. This is a great fundraiser for many non-profit organizations.
